LAHORE: (Saturday, July 19, 2025): Punjab University’s six member delegation is participating in the World University Games 2025 in Germany. The delegation comprised Punjab University Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar as official while two players of athletics Nida Karim, Malalika Shahzadi, Sehar Waein (Judo), Areeba Javed (Taekwondo) and Moazama Hafeez ( Swimming) are also part of the HEC contingent from the varsity. Dr Shabbir Sarwar has thanked HEC chairperson Dr Mukhtar Ahmad and Director Sports Javed Memon for including intervarsity and national medal winners in the delegation. He also praised PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali for his support. He said that the World University sports are considered mini Olympics because winners of these competitions emerge as Olympic players. He said that the sports competitions will continue until July 27.
